Literary event – “Memory and Premonition”
On the 30th of November, our school’s Slovene language Literature Club held a literary evening in the National Gallery of Slovenia.
It was titled ‘Spomin in slutnja’ (“Memory and premonition”) and its theme was the artworks of the gallery’s permanent exhibition.
The members of the Literature Club had visited the exhibition beforehand to each choose a painting that would later inspire a short story or poem.
These works, all created by the students themselves, were read at the event, accompanied by opening and closing poems by established authors.
The event was attended by more than 40 guests who were able to take part in a special tour around the gallery. The guests paused at certain points through the tour as the students’ works were performed next to the paintings that inspired them.
Everyone who attended thought that it was a wonderful cultural evening and we would like to thank everyone involved for making it possible.
