Open Day 2022

On 11 and 12 February 2022, teachers, students, and the school administration team of Gimnazija Vič were available to share information for those young people who are leaving primary education this year and who are giving serious consideration to choosing us as their secondary school.

While this occasion normally involves hundreds of children and parents visiting us in person to view presentations and displays about our classes and projects, this year’s event was entirely online due to Covid-related restrictions.

Our groups were available to give general information about how to apply to the school, the subjects available and the methods of testing, the way we prepare students for their national Matura exams, etc. In addition, special groups had been planned in advance for those who had a particular interest in elements of school life outside the classroom. These included topics such as research projects, excursions, extracurricular activities, and the role of the student council as part of the wider school community.

We would like to thank those teachers, mentors, and students who took the time to prepare the presentations and discussions which were available over the two days, those who gave assistance with the technical side of things, and all those who joined us from home and who gave us their time to consider our school as a potential part of their future education.

A short video was prepared as an introduction to this year’s online set of open days for our school. Although the information given is in the Slovene language, our international visitors can still appreciate the ideas connected to the rich history of the school, the academic successes of our students, the range of facilities available for those who study with us, the variety of extra projects on offer to those who attend Gimnazija Vič, and the enthusiastic and creative nature of our young people.
