MiniMUN – Kranj Conference

Over the first weekend of March 2023, six students from the Gimnazija Vič UNESCO club attended a three day Model United Nations conference in the Slovenian city of Kranj.

The students involved presented their countries in two UN committees; the Human Rights Committee and the Security Council. The delegates did a great job at debating and defending their countries’ stance on the given topics. The Human Rights Committee dealt with the question of the human rights situation in Iran and the Security Council with the issue of China and Taiwan.

Congratulations must go to Anja Pavšič who won the best delegate award in the Human Rights Committee and to Nadja Šarić who was given an honourable mention in the Security Council.

In addition, the group from Gimnazija Vič ended up with the most points in total so was presented with the award for best delegation.
