IATEFL English Competition 2024

Over the past few months, students in our third year took part in several different tests as part of the national competition in the English language organised by IATEFL in Slovenia.

These began at a school level before moving on to cover the different regions in Slovenia. Then, those who showed their skills to be among the best in the country moved on to take part in the national level competition.

Across the tests, students had to prove their knowledge and abilities in numerous areas of English as a subject. This included writing skills, grammar, and literature.

Once students were part of the competition group, they had regular meetings with the mentors for the project, Blanka Klobučar and Tim Gallagher, as well as extra meetings with their regular English teachers if needed.

We are delighted to say that the hard work paid off and all six students who ended up competing at a national level received prizes.

Congratulations to Katarina Adam, Ema Radilovič, Nika Lamprecht, and Žiga Kovačič who were given an award at the silver level and to Nadira Jumagulova and Maks Leon Rogelj who both achieved bronze.
