ERASMUS+ 2nd International meeting - TRIESTE & LJUBLJANA
As part of the Erasmus+ Involve Me & I Learn project some of us went to Trieste in March 2015 to attend the 2nd International meeting. On the 1st March 2015 five students from Gimnazija Vič visited Trieste for 3 days, where we met our peers from Greece, Iceland, Finland, Spain and Italy. On the first day, the students attended different lectures and workshops at the Lyceum of France Prešeren, and the teachers had a meeting, where they discussed the work to be done. In the afternoon the Italian students prepared a guided tour of the city. On the second day, we visited Venice and on the last day we stayed at school, where we attended a lecture by Mr. Evgen Bavčar, who spoke about a Europe of cultures. In the afternoon we visited the Škocjan caves, which was also the beginning of the Slovenian part of the 2nd International meeting.
32 students from the 1. D class hosted 47 foreign students. At Gimnazija Vič we had a presentation of our school and Ljubljana, carried out by our promotions group. Foreign students also attended 2 classes, where they could see what our lessons are like. After lunch we went to see the city centre and the Ljubljana Castle - we organized the whole guided tour by ourselves and it was fun showing the city to foreigners. On the third day we had sports activities and we also prepared a typical Slovenian dish - prekmurska gibanica or Prekmurje layered pastry. In the meantime our teachers had a meeting about the project. Later we visited Bled with its famous castle. It was great hosting foreigners because we could chat in English and show them our lifestyle.
