In the middle of October, different departments and extracurricular clubs at Gimnazija Vič joined up to mark our first ever Erasmus+ Week.

From 14^th to 18^th October, a group of 8 students and 4 teachers from Gimnazija Vič participated in an international project as part of the five-year-long Green STEM project.

Between the 27^th and the 29^th of September, our school hosted a student organised Model United Nations conference, called VičMUN.

At the end of September, we were delighted to welcome a delegation of three teachers from Blackebergs gymnasium in Stockholm.

In early September 2024, a group of students from Gimnazija Vič participated in the World Scholar's Cup (WSC) Global Round in Bangkok. All of our teams performed very well across various challenges, including debates, collaborative writing, and the Scholar's challenge. One of our teams achieved an impressive 8^th place overall.

Monday, 2^nd September 2024 saw Gimnazija Vič open its doors for the new school year. Although teachers and other school staff had already been busy behind the scenes in the weeks leading up to the start of September, this day allowed us to officially welcome our students into the classrooms.

As always, before the long summer break can be enjoyed, all students had to sit a range of school and national exams to show their progress in all the classes they take at Gimnazija Vič.

Friday, 24 June marked the annual Day of Youth at our school, during which normal classes are put to one side for the day and other activities are enjoyed instead.

On 21 May, we were delighted to open the doors of our school hall to an enthusiastic audience who turned up for the annual concert by students from our school’s music department.

Since 2022, Gimnazija Vič has been part of GreenSTEM (Green Science Teaching Materials for digital learning). This is an Erasmus project that also involves schools from Croatia, Romania, and North Macedonia. This year marked an important part of our participation as it was our turn to be the host school.

On Thursday, 25^th April, several schools from around Ljubljana joined us for a special event to mark World Book Night.

Since the start of the school year, a group of second year students from Gimnazija Vič worked on a project involving making a video for the annual competition organised by IATEFL Slovenia.

Over the past few months, students in our third year took part in several different tests as part of the national competition in the English language organised by IATEFL in Slovenia.

On 2^nd April, Gimnazija Vič was delighted to welcome the Božekako Drama Group to our school. This group is notable as it is made up entirely of retired people and it was an interesting experience for the members of our school’s theatre group to speak to those who are from a different generation but who share a passion for the stage.

As their major performance for this school year, the Gimnazija Vič Slovene Drama Group worked on Goli pianist (The Naked Pianist), a dark comedy by celebrated Slovenian writer, Matjaž Zupančič.
